Cookie Plug Is Opening in Historic Downtown Elko This Summer

Downtown Elko is getting a new bakery and dessert shop this summer — and it’s unlike anything in Northern Nevada.

Cookie Plug, the cookie shop known for some of the thickest, most-craved cookies in the country, is opening at 910 Idaho St, Elko, NV 89801 — right in the heart of Elko’s Historic Downtown District, steps from the Elko County Courthouse and the Western Folklife Center.

This is Elko’s first Cookie Plug, and if you’ve never had one, prepare yourself.

Cookie Plug isn’t a standard bakery. These aren’t thin, crispy cookies from a bag or a basic drop cookie from a display case. Cookie Plug’s signature cookies are extra-thick — part brownie, part cake, part cookie — all rolled into one fat stack. The owner calls them the thiccest cookies around, and once you’ve had one, you’ll understand why.

The core menu is built around these signature thick cookies, baked fresh and best eaten warm. For those who want to go even further, Cookie Plug also offers stuffed cookies — loaded with fillings in every bite, one of the hottest trends in the dessert world right now — along with keto cookies for those keeping an eye on carbs, and Iced Up ice cream cookie sandwiches for when one dessert just isn’t enough.

This is a cookie shop, a bakery, and a dessert shop all in one — and it’s landing in Historic Downtown Elko this summer.
